The bliss fairy is one of the interesting fairy that I always wanted to cross stitch her into my ornament. However, I want her background to match with her hair ornament colors. So I decided to cross stitch her on my special hand-dyed linen instead.

Mirabilia The Rose Of Sharon Ornament Hanger

WIPs Of Mirabilia The Rose Of Sharon Ornament Hanger

I started cross stitching The Rose Of Sharon small motif design on Saturday. She was one of the small version of my small motif design collection. I found this beauty rather plain on her dress. So I decided to add in some little petite seed beads on her hair and sleeve. She was stitched on natural 30ct wichelt linen. Borders are stitched with blending floss from dmc 3721 and kreinik blending filament. I completed making her into an ornament on the second day. So there will be 3 mirabilia ornaments listed this week in ebay. 🙂

6 Words From Cross Stitching Thoughts:

This is my 36th year of cross stitching. I started learning cross stitching when I was a child. Staying by my grandmother’s side learning how to cross stitch. It started as a hobby and now it has become part of my online business. I never thought a little ‘cross a stitch’ could bring me so much joy. But… of course, sometimes it also brought me anger and lack of patience (especially when working on lots of beading work). However, if I overcome these little problems, the end of cross stitching result brings joy. Cross stitching taught me some important rules in life. – “NEVER GIVE UP!” – These 3 little words are important to me. If you never give up, you will earn a beautiful piece of needlecraft art in life. In our daily life, you will succeed in what you do if you ‘never give up’. The below are 6 words that came from my Cross Stitching Thoughts:-

  1. Patience

  2. Motivate

  3. Calm

  4. Concentration

  5. Perseverance

  6. Achievement

– May you enjoy every moments making ‘cross a stitch’ , Happy Cross Stitching! ~ TAN. January 2015

Mirabilia The Queen Mermaid, November Topaz Fairy Ornaments !!

WIPs Of Mirabilia “The Queen Mermaid” Ornament hanger

Started my cross stitching for ‘The Queen Mermaid’ on 7th January 2015. She is the Queen of all mermaids. Holding a treasure box in her hands, her body was stitched with blending floss from dmc floss and kreinik blending filament, adding a gorgeous glittering effect on her body. Also a purple crystal apple bead was stitched in this design. Treasure box was also stitched with kreinik metallic floss. Beautiful!

Queen Mermaid was stitched with lots of mill hill sead beads. Also the design was a little larger in size to fit into my small motif border. However, as you can see from the above picture, all details of mermaid can be seen after finishing cross stitching the small motif design. So it is worth cross stitching some extra parts of the design. I love this mermaid queen! Again borders were stitched with blending floss from dmc and kreinik blending filament.

WIPs Of Mirabilia “November Topaz Fairy” Ornament hanger

Okay here is another Mirabilia fairy I stitched along on 9th January 2015. Although she is a November Fairy but it’s always a happy thing to stitch her in January. I had a hard time searching for the 9 pieces of yellow flower beads. Finally, I found the flower beads one day so she finally fall into my cross stitching wishlist.

Stitched with lots of mill hill sead beads, 9 pieces of topaz Swarovski Crystal drops and 9 pieces of yellow flower beads. Some parts of her wings are stitched with blending floss from dmc and kreinik metallic floss. The borders are stitched with blending floss from dmc 926 and kreinik metallic blending filament. Part of the fairy’s hair was also stitched with blending floss from two dmc colors too. November Topaz Fairy is one of the more complicated design to cross stitch in the “fairy of the month series”.

Mirabilia Ornaments- Sabrina , Fairy Moon 10th Jan 2015

Two NEW Mirabilia Ornament hangers will be listed on coming Saturday.

First, I would like to share with you WIPs of Mirabilia Sabrina ornament hanger that I cross stitched and finished it into an ornament hanger. Well, Sabrina was a sweet little beauty in one of the Mirabilia ladies series. I had a difficult time drawing her into my small motif design for my ornament. I thought she could be fit nicely into my design border (the border that you usually see in most of my Mirabilia ornament hangers.) However, I was WRONG! When I added the border into the chart, it was not what I expected. Either Sabrina’s dress was out of the border, or part of her hands could not be seen in the small design. They came out not perfect. I had to change another design border on her. Also, I had to cross stitched her on 30ct. wichelt linen instead. If I were to stitch her on a piece of 28ct. linen, the ornament hanger will be too big in size, which is not what I expected. This is one of the designs with lots of challenges! I want to see Sabrina with full details in my ornament, meaning her head, part of her dress and her hands must appear in the small design.

WIPs Of Sabrina

Sabrina took me 3 1/2 days to complete working on her. The design came out perfect on 30ct linen.

Other than Sabrina, I also stitched along Mirabilia  Fairy Moon. This is one of the earliest design came from Mirabilia. I picked out a natural color fabric for the design instead. I have stitched this design in a dark blue fabric 6 years ago. The background look too dark on the fairy’s dark brown hair, so this round I want the fairy background color to be in either natural or light sand color. I stitched her on natural 28ct. cashel linen. Stitched with lots and lots of mill hill seed beads on her brown color hair. Borders are stitched with blending floss from dmc 597 and kreinik blending filament.

Available In Ebay Saturday, 10th of January!

New Mirabilia Ornament Hangers!

I have been working on two Mirabila small motif designs in the past week. So these are the two ornament hangers that I created at the few last days in 2014. I have always wanted to cross stitch Mirabilia Cinderella. However, I gave up the idea since I knew there were too much beading work in the design. But I knew it was a beauty! I got the design chart a year ago and was waiting for a chance to cross stitch her when I have more free time. So before Christmas time, I picked up all the dmc color floss, mill hill seed beads and the Swarovski crystals. I started cross stitching her on 22th December. Other than this design, I also stitch other designs along. Let’s look at the WIPs of Mirabilia Cinderella.

WOW! A total of approximately 270 plus mill hill seed beads and 19 pieces of Black diamond Swarovski crystals are stitched in this design. At the end of the day making her, my eyes and fingers were tired! Borders are stitched with blending floss from dmc 317 and Kreinik #044 metallic blending filament.

Also I cross stitched another Mirabilia design. It’s Shimmering Mermaid. She is my first mermaid in small motif design. Below are the WIPs of Shimmering Mermaid.

Most of the mill hill beads stitched in this design are in petite sizes.

I love her expression.
